Press Release
Pheasants
Forever Returns to Omaha for Harley Ride
Hawgs for
Habitat Harley
Ride Looks to Build on Success of Pheasant Fest
St. Paul,
Minn. –
Pheasants Forever (PF) will be
holding the organization’s first-ever “Hawgs for Habitat”
Harley-Davidson motorcycle ride in Omaha, Nebraska. The
300-mile fundraising poker run will be held on Saturday,
June 18th starting from the Dillon Brothers
Harley-Davidson dealership in Omaha.
“We
decided that Omaha would be the perfect location for our
first-ever Hawgs for Habitat ride after we experienced the
city’s enthusiasm for Pheasant Fest,” explained Ben Streitz,
PF’s director of special markets, a Harley-Davidson owner,
and the Hawgs for Habitat coordinator. PF held the
second-ever Pheasant Fest at Omaha’s Qwest Center this past
January. The three day event attracted 24,205 attendees.
Check-in
for the ride will begin at 7AM on Saturday, June 18th
with the ride scheduled to start at 9AM from the Dillon
Brothers dealership. At planned checkpoints along the
route, riders will collect playing cards. Those cards will
create possible winning poker hands. The rider holding the
winning hand at the end of the ride will win a Beretta
shotgun. There is a scheduled lunch stop for the riders at
the Cardarelli Ranch in Bedford, Iowa with an estimated ride
finish at 4PM back at the Dillon Brothers dealership.
PF is
asking all Harley-Davidson enthusiasts, conservationists,
and pheasant hunters to consider participating in the
organization’s first Hawgs for Habitat event. Riders must
submit pledge money to enter the ride. There is a $300
minimum pledge requirement with all proceeds going to PF
Nebraska’s wildlife habitat projects. For more information,
and to register, contact Ben Streitz toll free at
(877)773-2070 or by email at
bstreitz@pheasantsforever.org.
PF is a
non-profit conservation organization dedicated to the
protection and enhancement of pheasant and other wildlife
populations in North America through habitat improvement,
land management, public awareness, and education. Such
efforts benefit landowners and wildlife alike. PF has more
than 110,000 members in over 600 local chapters across the
continent.
