Cabela’s Named Presenting
Sponsor of Pheasant Fest 2005
Nebraska
Retailer to be Event’s Biggest Exhibitor
St. Paul,
Minn. – July 26, 2004 –
Pheasants Forever (PF) announced a partnership with Cabela’s
making the Sidney, Nebraska-based outdoor retailer the
Title Sponsor of
Pheasant Fest 2005. Cabela’s will be the largest exhibitor at
Pheasant Fest, which will be held at Omaha’s Qwest Center on
January 14-16, 2005.
Pheasant Fest is the nation’s largest event
dedicated to upland wildlife, upland habitat conservation, upland
hunting, and bird dogs. The first Pheasant Fest occurred in
Minneapolis, Minn. in January 2003. At a press conference last
February, Omaha Mayor Mike Fahey predicted Pheasant Fest 2005
would attract more than 25,000 people. Mayor Fahey also projected
that Pheasant Fest 2005 would lead to more than $3 million in
revenue for the Omaha area. Pheasant Fest 2005 will also be the
home to PF’s Nebraska and Iowa state meetings.
“We’re proud to be the
title sponsor of Pheasant Fest 2005, right here in our home state
of Nebraska,” said Mike Callahan, Cabela’s senior vice president
of retail operations and marketing. “Pheasants Forever’s efforts
to conserve wildlife habitat are important to us and all outdoor
enthusiasts. We believe in their mission and are excited to be
part of Pheasant Fest 2005, as well as future Pheasants Forever
projects.”
“Pheasant Fest 2005 being located in Omaha,
Nebraska made Cabela’s a natural fit as the presenting sponsor,”
added Joe Duggan, PF’s vice president of corporate relations and
marketing. “This partnership is a great addition to Pheasant Fest
and should be a great attraction for attendees.”
Cabela’s has been a long-time PF partner and
plans to continue their support of PF’s youth programs, habitat
restoration projects, and other conservation activities. The
partnership provides added benefit to both PF and Cabela’s
dedication to wildlife habitat conservation and the education of
the next generation of hunter-conservationists.
PF is a non-profit conservation organization
dedicated to the protection and enhancement of pheasant and other
wildlife populations in North America through habitat improvement,
land management, public awareness, and education. Such efforts
benefit landowners and wildlife alike. PF’s unique system of
county chapters allows 100% of net funds raised by its chapters to
remain at the chapter level for local habitat projects. PF has
more than 108,000 members in over 600 local chapters across the
continent.
