Plump and frisky nightcrawlers are what fishermen require.  Here’s a tip on how to condition nightcrawlers before fishing trips.  Place them on top of a few inches of bedding in a carton. Stuff wet paper on top of the nightcrawlers and put the carton in a cooler or refrigerator for a day.  The nightcrawlers absorb the moisture, which makes them fatter, friskier and more enticing.  Fly Fishing for Trout can be described as a constant dance with your fly rod, so don’t ignore the importance of stripping line.  Always strip line in as the fly floats in your direction. Keep as little slack in the line as possible.  When a fish takes the fly, seldom does a fisherman have time to lift all of the extra slack to set the hook, before the fish swims happily away.
