Canadian Firearms & Outdoor Safety
For Immediate Distribution:

Winnipeg, MB April 18, 2001 - Canadian Firearms & Outdoor Safety, Manitoba’s premiere Firearm Training Organization, is pleased to announce that Canadian Firearms Safety Course testing sessions have been confirmed for the Minneapolis-St. Paul area on Saturday, May 5th and Sunday, May 6th, 2001.

These testing sessions will be of special interest to US hunters going to Canada.

Effective January 1, 2001, hunters coming to who do not have a Canadian firearms license will need to report their firearms to customs at the border, complete a non-resident firearms declaration form in triplicate, have it confirmed by a customs officer and pay a $50 (Canadian) fee.

You will not need a confirmed declaration or pay the $50 CAD fee if you have a Canadian Possession and Acquisition License (PAL). Before applying for a PAL, you must pass the Canadian Firearms Safety Course test.

To register for one of these testing sessions, please contact Heath Kushner at 204-254-7770 or e-mail info@canadian-firearms.ca. Testing session information is also available on the web at www.canadian-firearms.ca
