MB April 18, 2001 - Canadian
Firearms & Outdoor Safety, Manitoba’s premiere Firearm
Training Organization, is pleased to announce that Canadian Firearms
Safety Course testing sessions have been confirmed for the
Minneapolis-St. Paul area on Saturday, May 5th and
Sunday, May 6th, 2001.
These testing
sessions will be of special interest to US hunters going to Canada.
Effective January
1, 2001, hunters coming to who do not have a Canadian firearms
license will need to report their firearms to customs at the border,
complete a non-resident firearms declaration form in triplicate,
have it confirmed by a customs officer and pay a $50 (Canadian) fee.
You will not need
a confirmed declaration or pay the $50 CAD fee if you have a
Canadian Possession and Acquisition License (PAL). Before applying
for a PAL, you must pass the Canadian Firearms Safety Course test.
