Southeast Minnesota
Stream Report
9/26/2002
The season
officially closes for all designated streams on September 30 (you
can still fish that day). The season has also shifted to catch
and release/barbless hooks.
Area streams are clean and very
low, so fish are skiddish, that is, if they aren’t on top feeding
on tricos, BWO’s, midges, or terrestrials. All four of those
“hatches” have been going strong as we near the end of the line.
Think small nymphs and emergers and tricos, gray baetis in #22,
and cream midges. Beetle patterns have been outfishing hoppers,
as this hatch never really materialized for some reason.
