Crystal
River, Inglis & Withlacoochee River
Twin
Rivers Marina (352) 795-3552 Capt. Jackie informs us that
the fishing has been good. The scalloping is the big thing
in the south end of Crystal River; it is packed with
scallopers. North Crystal River they are catching trout on
pinfish. The redfish are biting really well on live
baitfish. The tarpon are biting in Crystal River on striped
mullet. The grouper are biting inshore but the grass is too
thick for trolling so you have to bottom fish. MacRae’s Of
Homosassa (352) 628-2602 They say that the fishing is doing
really good. They had a customer catch 20 grouper up to 18
pounds. The redfish are biting really well around the mouth
of the St. Martins River. Gator MacRae and Rodney MacRae
recently limited out of grouper.
Yankeetown Marina (352) 447-2529 They tell us that the
trout are still biting really well. The redfish are in the
area and biting well. The scallops are thick. The grouper
are still biting really well offshore. Riverland Bait &
Tackle (352) 465-2755 Craig tells us that in Lake Rousseau
they are catching some nice bass using shiners, buzz baits
and big worms. They are catching them around the structures
closest to the channel. In the Withlacoochee the fishing
has picked up. They are catching some nice bass on
shiners. They are coming in up to 10 pounds between the
City Ramp and the Goldendale Ramp. Rainbow River is still
some good fishing. They are catching some nice shellcracker
in the last mile up to the mouth of the Withlacoochee
River. The catfish are biting all over the place. The
catfish are biting below the Inglis Damn and throughout the
Withlacoochee River. The catfish are going after mainly
night crawlers and shrimp.
Homosassa Riverside Resort (800) 442-2040 Stuart says that
the redfish are biting really well in the shallow waters.
The trout are in the area and biting really well. The
scallops are off to a great start, they are very abundant
and putting a smile on everyone’s face.
Island
Outpost (352) 795-1880 John informs us that the scallop
season is off to a great start. They are very plentiful in
the area.
Hernando Bait & Tackle (352) 341-2811 Ted informs us that
Hernando Lake is producing a lot of nice bream and specs.
The catfish and bass are biting really well. The bass are
coming in up to three pounds. The bass have started to move
around. Grass shrimp are working well right now. The pan
fish are going after red wigglers. The catfish are coming
in very big sizes. The bass are putting up a fight so they
are more of a challenge to catch. |
