Loveday’s Bait & Tackle (386) 428-2841 Scott informs us
that in the river they are catching a lot of redfish and
flounder. They are going after shrimp, mullet and
artificial baits. The redfish are biting on Tigers Shoals
out in the flats; they are going after cut mullet. The
trout are going after live or cut mullet and top water
plugs. In the inlet they are catching redfish, flounder,
snapper jacks, ladyfish and black drum. In general fishing
is good. The Tackle Box (352) 372-1791 Gary tells us
that the pan fishing is doing really well. The bluegill are
the best bet right now in freshwater. They are biting the
best in Lochloosa, the Rodman Pool and the Ocklawaha River.
They are going after grass shrimp and crickets. There has
been a really good bass bite on Rodman that should last the
rest of July. The bass are going after live baits and
plastics. The mackerel bite has lasted really well on the
Gulf Coast. They are still catching a lot of kingfish on
the Gulf Coast. Through the early part of the season the
scallops are much better in the south part of Crystal River
then in the north part.
Captain
Tom’s (352) 236-0872 Capt. Tom informs us that the fishing
has been decent. The river is up so look for the big
catfish. The bluegill and red breast catches have been
decent. If you want a big sport fish, look for the gars
they are in the area and coming in up to 40-pounds. Baseline
Tire Service (352) 245-7070 Robert tells us that summer
action is good if the weather permits. The trout are biting
really well. The cobia are doing extremely well.
Everything is biting very well, just hope that Mother Nature
lets you out to play. |
