Lake
Tobesofkee - by Steve Powell
Live bait is
the specialty at Little’s Bait & Tackle. Paul still has a good
selection of artificial baits. When I was there last, I also
couldn’t believe the discount prices he had on spinning reel
combos and he still has some of those left. I mean to tell you
all that you cannot get a bass pro shop graphite spinning rod and
a nice open face reel for $25.00. That’s unheard of. I also want
to mention that he has some of those South Bend brim busters in
stock. They are going fast at $15.00 each and that’s a $10
savings compared to the pricing of the same item at the big
discount super store. At Little’s Bait & Tackle you can pick up
most anything you will need for your fishing trip. Ask Paul to
give you a striper and hybrid report from Lake Juliette. He has
been going over there and catching a lot of them lately and they
are big ‘uns. They have the coldest drinks in town. They also
have a great selection of snack items and convenience items. Be
sure to fill up your gas tank and ice your coolers down. Go see
them today at 6140 Thomaston Rd. or call Paul Little, Jr. at
478-477-6949. They are located just 1 ˝ miles from Interstate
475. Stop in at KC’s Bait and Tackle before you go to Lake
Juliette or Lake
Tobesofkee.
Joe at KC’s tells me that folks are buying a lot of chicken livers
and pinks and are catching the heck out of hybrids and stripers
with that bait at Lake Juliette. At Tobesofkee a lot of stripers
are being caught with chicken livers right now and that is the
bait of choice. Best time to catch Crappie is real early when
the sun comes out and it’s also good at night. Crappie are being
caught behind the dam and under the bridges. Also, try the Duck
Pond area on the north end of the lake. Best time for bass
fishing is from around 5:00 p.m. on into the night. Mike is
selling a lot of shiners for night time right now. Mike carries a
full line of artificial baits that are proven for the area.
Remember, if your rod or reel needs repair, they can fix it at
KC’s too. Stop in before you hit Tobesofkee because they stock
anything you could possibly need for a day out on the water. Make
sure and pick up all your convenience store items there, too. He
is located at 5452 Thomaston Rd. in Macon, Georgia. Call Mike and
the crew today for their fishing report at 478-474-8968. |
