the walleye fishing has been great, now that the warm weather is
finally here! Crawler harnesses are working well, in flashy
colors. Customer "Mark" reported that he caught four nice‑sized
walleye and a couple smallmouth along the BASF wall, hand lining
with clown Rapalas in only 2 hours! Another WBR customer, Andy,
reported he had been fishing with a friend at night (from 7 pm to
10 pm) and picked up 2 in front of the WBR launch ‑‑‑ then moved
to the flat, right before dark and caught 7 more, mostly on #5
clown Rapalas and #7 jointed clown Rapalas. Don't forget ... WBR
carries perch and walleye shiners and also night crawlers.

fishing near Bolles Harbor and Sterling State Park. Anglers are
drifting with crawler harnesses on bottom bouncers or trolling
with spoons or Hot‑n‑Tots. Folks are getting limit catches of
walleye just east of Bolles Harbor in 25 to 35 feet of water.
In Brest Bay and also off
Stoney Pointe, fish are being taken in shallow waters 12 to 18
feet deep on gold/purple Hot‑n‑Tots in the early morning hours.
Perch are hitting in the shipping channel in 20 to 30 feet of
water.
In the Detroit River, a
few walleye are being taken jigging just north of Wyandotte, close
to the steel mill, on brown rubber worms. Anglers are catching
lots of walleye, trolling in the Trenton Channel, as well as in
the southern end of the river, according to the DNR.
White bass are hitting
non‑stop near the southern tip of Grosse Ile. Also, good numbers
of walleye are being caught at the warm water discharge, just
south of Elizabeth Park.
Brest Bay Marina
(734 289‑1234 reports that tons of walleye are hitting in 21 feet
of water, off Stoney Pointe and also drifting with crawler
harnesses and bottom bouncers. Also folks have been trolling with
a "hot rod jr. streak" spoon with good results.
This is the weather we've
been waiting all year for, so get out there and enjoy!
