Ludington
fishing report. As of the 1st week of July fishing has picked up.
Most of the fish are being caught in 200’
of water fishing the top 50’
about 4-5 miles out. Presently you can expect to catch lake trout,
salmon & steelhead. Lots of bait fish being marked. This should
make this area hot from now on in. In Hamlin Lake, bluegill,
perch, pike and bass fair to good. Walleye presently slow due to
the mayfly hatch but should pick up in a week or so. For a current

WALHALA
As of the
1st
week of July, Christie at Gene’s
Sport Shop in Walhala reports bass fishing real good in Tallman
Lake. In Long Lake good bass fishing on rubber worms & spinners
also some nice crappie are being caught. Steelhead are being
caught at Custer Dam on spinners. Hamlin Lake a little slow at
present due to the late spring. For a current report call the shop

Situated in
the heart of this good fishing area is Gene’s
Sport Shop
(231-757-4432) a stone’s
throw from the Pere Marquette River. A tidy little tackle shop on
US 10 in Walhalla. The shop carries live bait, minnows, crawlers,
worms, crickets, wax worms, etc. Some necessary hunting supplies
available along with deer feed.

Landing Round Lake Resort (231-462-3218) reports as of the 1st
week of July, good bass fishing in Round Lake. Crappie, bluegill &
sunfish fishing real good. A few pike are also being taken. For a

4-1/2 hrs. Round Lake has some good fishing for largemouth bass,
