Fall on
Minnetonka
Minnetonka is turning over right
now and the bite is tough. Water temp is around 53 degrees. Weeds
are starting to die and make for some surface clutter and the
water is still a little murky from turning over.
Bass I have been catching
some bass the main pattern has been trowing spinnerbaits over tops
of weed flats, around docks, and any laydown trees you can find.
White or something with Chartuse in it seem to work best.
If you have a calm day try some topwater baits.
Walleyes The Eye bite has
been tough during the day all though they can be caught you really
work for them. I got a 28 incher Friday about 11 a.m. working a
weedline. The better Walleye bite has been at night. Look for rock
or hard bottom in the eastern bays. Try using minnow type baits or
a jig and minnow. I especially like Red Tails when choosing a
minnow. Look deep during they day and then a little shallower at
night.
Pike work weed flats with
spinnerbaits or small bucktails. The bite has been a little slow
for Pike also. I'm catching them but not the numbers like in
summer.
Musky I have not been fishing
Musky. But the guys who are, are trowing jerkbaits over weed
flats. I did see a 40 incher caught the other day. You can also
try large spinners or bucktails. Another technique that may pay
off is trolling a large sucker minnow under a large bobber real
slow.
Good fishing to you.
