NE Adirondacks

NORTHEAST ADIRONDACKS, CHAMPLAIN VALLEY

All across the Northern Adirondacks from Tupper Lake to Lake Champlain the fishing action is quiet. All the trout and salmon stockings have been completed, and everyone is waiting for the water to warm enough for the fish to bite.  The same is true for northern pike and tigers; they are all stressed out from spawning and the cold water they too, are quiet.

The Outfitter Plus Sports Shop in Dannemora has all the fishing supplies needed for a summer full of fun, stop in and stock up.  If wildlife art in the form of animal mounts is for you, stop in at North Country Taxidermy on Main Street, Keene, NY. The mounts and other wildlife art displayed here will astound you. Stop in soon.

There will be a “Quit Wishing” –“Go Fishing”, 4th Annual Spring Fishing Derby in Tupper Lake, NY on June 21, 2003. The derby will feature bass, walleye and northern pike, with payouts per hour, per category. This will be a catch and release derby and only healthy and live fish can be entered. All entrants must report to the Tupper Lake Rod and Game Lodge on June 21 for their Registration Tag. The Lodge will be open at 5:00AM. NY State Fishing Regulations Apply.  Designated Fishing Waters are: Simond Pond, the Raquette River upstream to Follensby Bridge and down stream to the Setting Pole Dam; All of Raquette Pond and Big Tupper Lake to Bog River Falls. Fishing times are from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. All prizes and drawings are at 4:00 p.m. at the Rod & Game Lodge. Entry Fee is $25.00 and all persons in a boat must be registered.
