Russ at MOORES SPORTING GOODS reported they
have moved into their new location in Emporium. Things are going just great! Some large
trout in the 23 to 27 inch range are being caught in the area with wax and meal worms and
number 1 Golden Mepps (cut off red plastic) working best. Some nice rainbows and brooks
are being taken on nightcrawlers and dillie worms (in between nightcrawler and redworm).
They also carry a super meal worm that does well on trout, too. The hot spot streams for
trout now are the Driftwood Branch of the Sinnemahoning, Portage Creek and
North Creek. For the latest conditions call Russell at (814)486-1326.
Have you always wanted to see elk in the wild but never had the chance to go out West?
Its a short trip to Benezette in Elk County. Anglers and will find this area is
terrific for fishing. Go to THE BENEZETT STORE AND RESTAURANT for a great meal in
the restaurant (Ben serves a great hamburger on a super bun) then load up on groceries,
fishing, camping & hunting supplies, gas and souvenirs at the store. Ben and his
family always know the location of the elk and are always happy to share their knowledge
with visitors. (814) 787-7456.
