For the best fishing competition around you don’t want to miss the 41ST ANNUAL PA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP FISHING TOURNAMENT SEPTEMBER 21, 22, 23, 24, 2000. It’s a catch and release tournament and no entry fees. Fishing areas are from the Allegheny Reservoir (PA waters), Allegheny River (Kinzua Dam to Hunter Station). Tionesta Lake & Creek from Dam to Kelletville Bridge, Brokenstraw Creek & Conewango Creek (PA waters) beginning at 12:01 am, Saturday September 23rd until 8:00pm September 23rd and from 5 am Sunday 24th until 2 pm. Fish from boat or shore. If you can’t find a registration form at your local sporting goods store, call (814) 484-3585 or FAX: (814) 484-2273. It’s a great time for the whole family.

Anglers stop at TIDIOUTE TRADING POST for all your supplies, a full line of fresh live bait, fishing supplies, lottery tickets and great subs. Owner, Rachel, carries snacks, grocery items for camp and gas. The store is located on the Allegheny River on Route 62 just south of the Tidioute bridge. Anglers planning to fish for trout in Oil Creek or the PA Fishing Tournament call now for reservations at CASEY’S CABOOSE STOP in Titusville. You will find it a truly delightful experience to stay in one of the 21 caboose units that make up the motel. Before you start your morning fishing the tournament stop at FLOSSIE’S RESTAURANT for a good home cooked breakfast or stop on your way back for lunch or dinner. Flossie is open 7 days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner and she has great daily specials. Anglers and hunters enjoy talking to other sportsmen and they really enjoy the good food. When you’re heading up to the PA State Championship Fishing Tournament plan to stop at WEST HICKORY BEVERAGE on Route 62 south of Tidioute. Be sure to look up Tim for he will be most accommodating in assisting you. He has a large variety of ice cold beer, soft drinks, groceries, snacks and videos. THE TIPPY CANOE INN is located in Tidioute on the Allegheny River and owned and operated by Donna and Chuck who cater to the outdoorsmen and women. They welcome their patrons to ”Tip their canoe in”. HUNTER’S STATION GOLF & LODGE offers one of the most picturesque settings in the east. Bring the family for a week or a week-end.
